May 2026: Our first pre-print is out! We show that Ukrainians are remarkably positive about their country’s future and that personal and collective future thinking are merged in Ukraine. While the paper is under review, it can be accessed here.

January 2026: Our biggest education initiative becomes a reality: In a one-week online winter school, Ukrainian students and academics discuss memory with leading researchers. Read more here.
December 2025: We get awarded our first grant. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Society of Applied Research in Memory and Cognition (SARMAC) awards us 2,000 USD for a new collaboration between Karine Malysheva and Marius Boeltzig on future thinking in Ukraine, including in LGBTQ+ Ukrainians.
Autumn 2025: The first data is presented to the scientific audience at SweCog Conference in Lund. Linn Petersdotter gives an oral presentation on fragmentation of traumatic memories, and Marius Boeltzig presents a poster on Flashbulb Memories.
October 2024: We start our first data collection. Over five months, we survey almost 1,000 people in Ukraine, Poland, and Germany on Flashbulb Memories, future thinking, and traumatic memories.
Spring 2024: When starting to plan a single study on Flashbulb Memories in Ukraine, we realise that there is much more potential for a data collection in Ukraine. The lab grows, the three research areas take shape.
